An Tochar have started off life back in the Intermediate Football grade with aplomb as they held on for a 1-14 to 1-13 victory against relatively near neighbours Ballinacor. Two key men for the Roundwood men were Jordan Brady and Brendan Kennedy who combined for 9 of their sides scores and were strongly supported by very talented An Tochar teammates while Ballinacor had the ever reliable Paddy Byrne contributing 1-2 along with 6 from the boot of his brother Ger but the shout for man of the match went to 18 year old John Toomey who had an immense debut game in the middle for the men from the Glen who found an An Tochar side on an upward trajectory just one score too good on the day. An Tochar will be a very live threat in this grade and showed they have the grit to grind out a game when needed while Ballinacor look like they too are getting back to the Ballinacor who were within a whisker of Senior Football not so many moons ago.
