Avondale & Wicklow Senior Footballer Conor Byrne Awarded IT Tralee Scholarship

After a hugely impressive 2020 campaign with club and county, Avondale’s Conor Byrne has topped a t off by being awarded a prestigious scholarship from IT Tralee, an academic centre that can boast some of the greatest current and past players and coaches to play the game among their alumni with the likes of Jim McGuinness just one of those well known names. Conor was exceptional this year and no doubt he will build on his impressive 2020 campaign with another big showing in 2021 and he will have the benefit of this scholarship to progress both academically and on the pitch. Well done once again to Conor.

28 young sports stars have been awarded Sports Scholarships by the Institute of Technology Tralee as part of our Sports Scholarship Programme for 2020/2021. The scholarships were awarded across 9 different sporting disciplines and once again included scholarships sponsored by IT Tralee, Kennedy Coaches & the Kerry District League.

Congratulations to all the Sports Scholarship recipients for 2020/2021. Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 we were not in a position to host our annual Sports Scholarship Awards Evening this year. However, over the next week we will be introducing you to all of our scholarship recipients.
