Very sad news from Carnew yesterday that well known and the much liked and respected Din Doran had sadly passed away. A legendary figure across Wicklow GAA circles as well as being a stalwart of the brilliant Carnew Drama Acts that won so many Scór titles over the years and entertained so many people in the halls of Wicklow and across the country while also having a big part in Tops of The Parish and the local choir to mention just a few of the many things Din was an integral part of in his community.
Din is from the great Doran Dynasty synonymous with Carnew and our condolences to his wife Margaret and his kids Diarmuid, Gary, Michelle and Aoife who would be widely known across the GAA community having proudly represented not only Carnew Emmets but so many of the Wicklow County teams over the years.
Din was a great community man summed up best by Din receiving the The Benimerenti medal which is an honour awarded by the Pope to members of the clergy and the laity for service to the church. He will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance.
Our condolences to all his family and friends and May He Rest In Peace.
