To start with we at Bill Hill know as much about cricket as the Wexicans do about personal hygiene but Ireland’s Crickets were chirping fairly loud on Wednesday as the Irish Cricketeers took England apart with their bowling on a roasting hot day at Lords!
Eagle eyed viewers who tuned in to watch Ireland handing England their ass at softboy hurling would have spotted a group of esteemed gentleman from the Garden County who were causing quite the stir for waving the tricolor as the Decommissioned Irish Junior B hurling side took apart the World Champions England in style.
The gentlemen we speak of are well known Wicklow Town men Declan Finnegan, Billy O’Rourke, Stephen McNulty and Eddie Leonard who were in top form at Lords watching a historic Irish performance on day one.
The Wexicans have been busy lately, claiming one of our great referees and umpires Eddie Leonard bears all the similarities to a certain individual by the name of Adolph and the Bould Eddie further fanned the flames with his animated encouragement from the stands at Lords😅
The sod at Lords was made for a bit of ground hurling. Looks like a poor mans Ballinakill😅
Eddies fans were keen to get a snap with the Wicklow Führer😉
The temperatures at Lords were almost hotter than the ladies on Brittas Bay getting the kit of for a great cause with the mercury hitting 39 degrees Celsius at Lords. The cute little woolly jumpers the players mammys knitted for them were all off and after the lads mammies made sure their darlings had enough sunscreen the action got underway with our crew all set to roar on Ireland despite the ban on over exuberant flag waving!
