Please Click To Support St Pat’s Daragh McEvoy’s Dublin Marathon Run In Aid Of The Charities Who Helped The McEvoy Family At Such A Tragic Time

The GAA has its failings but one major thing that is great about the GAA is how the GAA community rallies around its members in times of strife and no matter where you are from, what club you are a member of is not important in times of need as every GAA member is always there to go above and beyond to help one another and all rivalries get pushed aside.

One of our great GAA men, St Pats Daragh McEvoy and his wife Tara and family had a heartbreaking tragedy as on the 9th January 2019, their daughter Pippa was stillborn at 37 weeks. This was an enormous shock for their family. The support they got at the time from stillbirth charities Feileacain and Now I lay me down to sleep, was a great source of comfort to the family at a very difficult time. Feileacain provided a cuddle cot which is a special cooling cot which meant we could bring Pippa home for a short period. NILMDTS sent a professional photographer who took pictures of the family with Pippa which are memories they will cherish forever. Daragh will run the Dublin City marathon in October in a bid to raise funds for both these fantastic charities and in memory of Pippa.

This is where we all come in to support the McEvoy family and Daragh by lending our support by donating what you can at the Go Fund Me Link below and if you were able to go and line the streets of Dublin to support Daragh as he runs to support the charities who supported him and his family at such a difficult time. Many of you reading this would have played with or had the pleasure of watching Daragh in action on the GAA fields and we call on you to dig deep to help him and the charities that gave the families such comfort at such a difficult time.
