Michelle Richardson Previews Blessington v Tinahely In The Ladies Senior Football County Final

Let me begin by saying, in 2018 the 20×20 campaign was established and how fitting it is that this week sees the launch of the Fifth and Final Chapter of the campaign as the Blessington Ladies take on their “Arch Rivals” Tinahely in the Senior County Final 2020 at 6pm in Baltinglass.
From a Blessington perspective the girls are well up for this and have been waiting too long to bring this home. The work rate and effort will stand to them in the final, the all round camaraderie is unreal. It really promises to be a great final with some DING DONG matchups in every corner of the field. That left boot of Jess Brennans is enough to destroy any team, the pocket rocket that is Niamh Cullen says it all. If this comes down to the wire the never give up attitude of these girls will get them through, “just ask Sadbh Fisher & Molly Cullen”.. and every other member of the panel. The defense ain’t gona let anyone down.
The girls had some sterling performances against previous opponents St Pats and Baltinglass and came back against AGB to win after extra time, to say all us supporters in Blesso were on the edge of our couches at home is an understatement.
Kim Connors will need to have “hands of steel” in goal against the Tinahely forwards and the power house that is Jackie Kinch, but by God there’ll be no getting by her on Saturday.

The club is buzzing as much as it can in these times with bunting, flags and schools on overdrive with “Blue & White” day, the artwork and posters are brilliant. The whole community is getting behind the girls with well wishes and messages of Good Luck. The Kerry Legend that is Marc O Shea is willing the girls on for the final, if anyone knows anything about a final he sure does.

My prediction for the game is as follows “it won’t be easy, Tinahely are County Champions for a reason” but I really do believe the Blesso Ladies are gona go all the way this year and bring the “County Champions” title home to where it belongs. We are in it for the long haul now and there is no stopping these girls for many years to come.

Blesso 3-10 Tinahely 2-7.

In the words of a legend in my eyes “Tina Turner”

Blesso are “Simply the Best”………..better than all the rest

Over and out, roll on Saturday.
