Annacurra Name Strong Management Teams For Tilt At Intermediate & Junior Championships

Annacurra

After just missing out on survival in Senior Football ranks, Annacurra will hope to return to the top tier of Wicklow Football following in the footsteps of Tinahely and Hollywood who both managed to bounce straight back to Senior ranks after just one year down. The Intermediate Championship can be a minefield that can take down any team on a given day but to steer them through the twists and turns of Wicklow Footballs second tier the powers that be in Annacurra have turned to Martin Ging.

Martin is a highly experienced campaigner and has taken charge of the Wicklow Minor football team among others and his son Matthew was one of the brilliant young Wicklow Minor footballers who thrilled us with their displays last summer. A man who possesses a very shrewd football brain and a trainer who will bring a highly professional approach should see Annacurra live up to the billing of Intermediate favourites that inevitably comes with being just back from a higher tier. The support team of Noel Shannon and Colm O Driscoll bring massive experience both as great past players but as equally shrewd footballing minds and a high flying team will be almost guaranteed and with a huge array of talent at their disposal a swift return to Senior Football is a most likely going to be a very short price with the Bookmakers.

Annacurra’s Junior Footballers will have the familiar faces of Jimmy Nolan and Chris McGrath at the helm in 2019. With Aughrim announcing they will be entering a junior football team in 2019 the prospect of a big neighbourhood derby will motivate the troops even more this year so a big year could be ahead for the stars of Thursday Night Lights.
