The Ref In The Car Boot Story – What Really Happened?

We have all heard the now famous story of a Wicklow Gaa Referee being locked in a car boot by disgruntled fans!

Incident occurred at Baltinglass following underage match between Blessington & Tinahely in 1985, I think. Blessington won and were being presented with the cup. Apparently the referee Johnny Price was changing at the boot if his car when a disgruntled Tinahely supporter pushed him & he fell into the boot.Very few were aware that anything had happened until it was revealed on the Radio the following day.
